Callsigns
PortsThe window "available ports" shows all known AX.25-interfaces. (currently all AX.25-interfaces provided by the LinuX kernel). Each port may be selected and by checking the box use it may be enabled for use by LinKT.
ScreenThe Screen-Configuration has three folders:
| black | schwarz | |
| white | weiß | |
| darkgray | dunkelgrau | |
| gray | grau | |
| lightgray | hellgrau | |
| red | rot | |
| green | grün | |
| blue | blau | |
| cyan | zyan (aqua?) | |
| magenta | violett (rosa) | |
| yellow | gelb | |
| darkred | dunkelrot | |
| darkgreen | dunkelgrün | |
| darkblue | dunkelblau | |
| darkcyan | dunkelzyan | |
| darkmagenta | dunkelviolett (violett) | |
| darkyellow | dunkelgelb (ocker) |
If you are using a rather thin font on a dark background, it is reasonable to activate the bold attribute.
The particular settings are:
Sound
If you enable sounds, you can bind certain events to sound files which will
be played when the event occurs. To do so, the KDE kaudiosaver must be running.
We recommend to play around with Sound
Systemsounds at
the KDE Control Center.
You can choose a sound (as WAV-File) from the list sounds and associate is with disconnect, connect or the remote command //RING. The list can be extended using the Add WAV button. Pressing at Play WAV will play the selected sound file.
AwayYou may enter up to four different "away" messages, which can be sent to all connected stations using the away feature. The messages can contain macros.
ShortcutsThese enable you to associate pre-selected text (which may contain macros) with shortcut keys. The pre-selected text is sent by pressing the CTRL-Key and a numeric key simultanously during a QSO.
CallKeyThis is a special feature of LinKT. There is no direct association between TNC-channels and LinKT's QSO-windows like there is in traditional packet terminals. Instead of this, you can bind certain frequently used callsigns to function-keys (F1 to F10). By default, the association does not respect SSID, if you want a different SSID for the same callsign to be bound to a different CallKey you have to check the ssid box. That makes sense whenever there is more than one service available under a single callsign.
FothersThese are settings which do not fit in any of the other categories, (surprise).
DirectoriesYou may use this to specify which directories which LinKT will use to save BIN, 7plus and text files.
FilesUsing the folders ctext, qtext, info, help and news , you may edit the corresponding files in ~/.kde/share/apps/linkt/. You may use macros. The import button loads a selected file into the editor.
The following files are used by LinKT:
| File | Content |
|---|---|
| ctext | This is the connect-text, which every station will receive when connecting to your station |
| qtext | This text is transmitted whenever a remote station disconnects using the //QUIT-command |
| help.linkt | This will be transmitted when the remote-station issues the //HELP command. |
| info.linkt | Same as above, but for //INFO. |
| news.linkt | Same as above, but for//NEWS. |
